"Helping at the Tend to a Friend events has truly been an eye opening experience. Hanging out with the kids makes me realize how much dedication and patience it requires being a parent and raising a child with special needs. I leave each Kids' Night Out with the utmost respect for every family and I am looking forward to the next Kids' Night Out every month."

"Not only is Kids’ Night Out a rewarding experience for the kids, but also for myself. It is nice giving back to the community in such a different way than many others do. My favorite experience coming home from college for Winter break was attending the January Kids’ Night Out!"

"Kids’ Night Out was the highlight of my Friday nights during my Senior year. The children were always excited to hang out and play games with all of the high school students. It was great being able make a difference, not just for the kids, but for their families as well. The parents have difficult jobs and need a break occasionally and that was exactly what we were able to give them by watching their children."

"Tend to a Friend’s events are a great place for the kids to interact with older high school kids that they would not normally meet. Kids’ Night Out gives the kids a nice break and everyone, including the volunteers, has fun. It is overall very rewarding and you learn a lot about kids with special needs."
